1945-1955 English Pedigree doll
"This was my one and only doll I had received as a little girl, she was bought in England by my mother and given to me as a special birthday present. I found her in the cupboard, after a spring clean, I took her to the Doll Hospital to have her tided up, dressed and a display cabinet made to keep the dust off.”
Teddy Bear
“This teddy bear is and still is, much loved… as you can see!!! It was bought for me for my 1st Birthday and I am now 45 years old. My grandmother used to patch him for me so he wouldn’t fall apart."
Baby Doll
“My next door neighbours child drew all over my little girls Baby born with BLACK TEXTER, when her brother tried to stop him from doing it, he broke the dolls arm.” Took it to where? The Doll Hospital……….its as good as NEW!
Old German Doll
“This is an old German doll passed onto me as a Family Air-loom. My Great grandmother was given this doll as a little girl before the war; she holds a great deal of sentimentality. My Grandmother used to play with her being an only child, this was her special friend. I have had her restored and dressed too as close as possible to what she used to look like in a photo taken with my g. grandmother, 95years ago. This doll will now be passed onto further generations in my family and for one day- My Great grandchild.”
Manikin This was bought to us from a shop owner who owned this Manikin; it had been knocked over in his store and badly damaged… “Mobo” Movable Horse
This is an old original 1937-1960`s “Mobo” movable horse. This took 12weeks to complete, it has been sand-blasted, some new parts were made here and there then repainted in a baked enamel. Completely restored for further generations of enjoyment!
Cane Dolls Pram
“This is my cane dolls pram I had as a child – looking a little-worse-for ware! I’ve had it restored as a furniture piece for my lounge room”
1945-1955 English Pedigree baby doll.
Played with and much loved and restored back to what she was like originally, giving her a new lease of life…. I can now pass her onto my daughter.”
Old Polish Celluloid Doll
face="Times New Roman" “This doll was given to me as a little girl, when I came out from Poland. This is an old polish celluloid doll, she was dropped by my little grand-daughter…. which broke my heart. I took her to The Doll Hospital; they repaired her for me, which made my day. The repair was hardy noticeable, her make-up was also done, making her look a little brighter!”
